ADDRESSING THEIR ISSUE
The schemes and subsidies from the government are mainly focused upon the Dairy farmers, Egg producers, Poultry and Fishing communities etc., there isn't any separate forum for the pastoral communities.
They are being abandoned due to the absence of a separate network to grab the attention of Government to emphasize the benefits of their activity that have been increasing the soil productivity over long time, enriching biodiversity and also to address the problems they incur.
அரசின் திட்டங்கள் மற்றும் மானியங்கள் பெரும்பாலும் பால் உற்பத்தியாளர்கள், முட்டை உற்பத்தியாளர்கள், கோழி வளர்ப்பு மற்றும் மீனவர் சமூகங்கள் போன்றவற்றின் மீது அதிக கவனம் செலுத்துகின்றன, மேய்ச்சலில் ஈடுபடுவோருக்கு என்று தனியாக திட்டம் எதுவும் இல்லை.
காலம் காலமாக மண்ணை வளப்படுத்தி, பல்லுயிர் பெருக்கத்திற்கு தொடர்ந்து உதவிடும் மேய்ச்சல் சமூகத்தினர் குறித்தும், அவர்களால் ஏற்படும் நன்மைகுறித்தும், அவர்கள் சந்திக்கும் பிரச்சனைகள் குறித்தும் அரசின் பார்வைக்கு கொண்டுசெல்ல தனியாக அமைப்பு இல்லாத காரணத்தால் அனாதையாக அலைகிறார்கள்.
இந்நிலையில் தென்மாவட்ட நதிகளான வைகை நதி மற்றும் தாமிரபரணி ஆற்று பகுதிகளில் பாரம்பரிய மேய்ச்சலில் ஈடுபடுவோரை ஒருங்கிணைத்து அவர்களால் ஏற்படும் நன்மைகள் குறித்தும் அவர்கள் சந்திக்கும் பிரச்சனைகள் குறித்தும் களஆய்வு செய்தோம். இவ்வாய்வின் முடிவில் மேய்ச்சல் சமூகத்தினர் நலன்கருதி நபார்டு நிறுவனம் மூலம் தொழுவம் உழவர் உற்பத்தியாளர் நிறுவனம் ஒன்றை உருவாக்கினோம். இந்நிறுவனம் மூலம் மேய்ச்சல் சமூகத்தினர் வாழ்வு நலம்பெறவும், இவர்கள் சந்திக்கும் பல்வேறு பிரச்சனைகளுக்கு தீர்வு ஏற்படுத்தும் விதமாகவும், பல்லுயிர் பெருக்கத்திற்கு உதவும் பாரம்பரிய மேய்ச்சல் தொழில் அழியாமல் பாதுகாக்கும் பணியில் ஈடுபட்டு வருகிறோம்.
In this context, Thozhuvam organization conducted a research about the benefits and problems of traditional pastoralists involved in grazing activity around the rivers of Vaigai and Thamirabarani present in southern districts of Tamil Nadu.
At the end of this study, for the welfare of pastoralist we set up an organization named Thozhuvam Farmer Producer Company through NABARD. Through this organization we are engaged in the work of improving the livelihood of the grazing community and solving the various problems they face, thus preserving the traditional grazing industry which helps in biodiversity.
Finally, after forming a framework we take it to the State and Central Government of India, to resolve their issue at ease.
